Danish Kris Andersen is a veteran in the international electronic music scene. He has many releases on legendary labels such as R&S Records (Tundra/1994-1995), KK/Nova Zembla (Elysium/1995-1998), Flying Rhino (Sheyba/1995-1998) and Dragonfly (Elysium/1996-1998) and has travelled the World many times playing as an artist and DJ at many legnedary clubs and Festivals. While working as a freelance A&R for Polygram, Kris started out as a profesional DJ in London, UK in 1990 in the at that time young Acid House Scene and when he returned home to Copenhagen it was the beginning of a long international music career into Tribal Trance, Chillout, Electronica and Progressive/Tribal House. A career that once again took him back to London where he lived from 1996 to 1998 while playing all over the world every weekend and producing and remixing at the legendary Butterfly Studio in London. After a break from 2002 - 2005 Kris Andersen turned back to the House scene and is busy with his solo Deephouse productions, his tech house/techno project Rymdfunk with DJ friend Patrik Vision, Deep House/Tech project Andersen & Borelli with longtime producer friend Jean Borelli, "House from the past" project's Funktribe and WareHouse Junkies, downbeat electronica project Wombatmusic and returning to his roots as a House DJ playing under his own name Kris Andersen and ocasionally also spinning House from a more tech/techno side. Aswell as running Loopfreaks Records and it's sister Label Loopfreaks Black Kris is now a resident Dj on the Loopfreaks event Freak Out. Events that are scheduled regulary in the heart of Copenhagen as well going abroad to various cities this Summer and Fall.

Inhabitant of Paris, Tanguy (Shag) discovered Techno current in 2000, through rave and free parties Quickly, he left Hardteck vibes to get into Trance and started djing in 2003. He is a co founder member of �Seventh Sky� crew, who promote parties in Paris area. (Flammes du Phoenix, White Rabbit, Majik Sterenn).

In 2005, he turned towards Progressive when he met Miss Tick (fat form rec.). With her, he discovered fat and groovy touch�. Today his Dj sets go from Electro to Progressive House and Progressive Trance. In 2007 he joined the �Fat Form Records� team with Dj Miss Tick, Dj Natas, Lunaspice / D-sens, Krugger Flaps and his friend Dj Nimut.

Tanguy is also graduate of ESRA in Paris (Ecole Superieure de Realisation audiovisuelle) and professional video editor. He made some video reports about parties and festivals, in particular during his trips in Germany. In 2007, he decided to live one year in Berlin, and completly fell in love with the city. A year of love, music and friendship made in �East-Side�, which will change Tanguy forever. He directed his first Documentary, with his friend Quentin, �Schmetterlinge im Bauch�, about this trip.

Joel Martin and Matt �Radio Slave� Edwards are the two men that make up Quiet Village, but it might be more accurate to say that the records that Martin and Edwards own are Quiet Village. Silent Movie, their debut full-length, is about as sample-heavy as any hip-hop offering, utilizing obscure and not-so-obscure sources to create up 21st century update on loungey exotica. Martin and Edwards aren�t so much beat merchants, though, as much as they�re interested in vibes. Silent Movie is a voyage into Balearic territory, where �50s eccentricity sits alongside the Chi-Lites and dub matches well with Italian film soundtracks.

The same can be said for the duo�s RA podcast. An hour-long home-listening mix, the duo floats along with some of their favourite records in tow, including a healthy dose of dub (Rhythm & Sound, Jackie Mittoo), ambient, downtempo and even a little bit of Led Zeppelin. Turn off the lights, sit back and drift away.

Joshua Harvey and Graeme Sinden are the London producers behind The Count and Sinden. Perhaps better known under their solo guises, Hervé and Sinden, the duo have brought their warped dance music sensibility together to craft one of the 2008�s most insistent singles, �Beeper.� The earworm can be directly traced back to The Count and Sinden�s love of everything from Baltimore club, hip-hop, electro, Miami bass and grime.

ElectronicaManila is a collective of active musicians and producers of Philippine descent, who were brought together by a mailing list of the same name in 2001, and have since gone on to produce shows, albums, projects and this compilation.

BASICS is a project that spawned from the idea: come up with one song using only the general MIDI set of instruments, and pool together the results for a compilation. What you have here is a collection of idiosyncratic grooves ranging from techno to ambient that capture the disctinct flavor of ElectronicaManila.
